Are you fascinated by maritime life, do you have a sailing licence or are you interested in renting a boat with a skipper? Or, if you simply want to practice water sports by renting equipment, you may be interested in getting to know the marinas of Gran Canaria.
Here’s what you’ll find on the island to help you plan your holiday!
The Pasito Blanco Marina in Gran Canaria is the closest port to the Lopesan Group hotels. It is known for being a yacht harbour and has 388 berths for boats from 6 to 40 metres in length, so we recommend that you take it into account if you come to Gran Canaria in your own boat or if you like sport fishing and nautical activities. It also has 80 places in the dry marina
And not only that, in Pasito Blanco you will find all the services and amenities you need: first aid, refuelling, 230 and 380 volt electricity, laundry, self-service, showers, waste and sewage collection, 24-hour surveillance, tourist information, weather service, etc.
It has pleasant terraces and you will love strolling around it. It is located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, just 2 kilometres from Maspalomas and Meloneras, where you will find wonderful golden sandy beaches, golf courses and a multitude of leisure options and excursions to other parts of the island.
The Pasito Blanco Marina is a privileged place to enjoy pleasure boats, exclusivity and comfort during the 356 days of the year.
Puerto de Mogán is also very close to our hotels and is the place we recommend if you are passionate about nautical sports, since it has a long dock with capacity for boats of various sizes, from 8 to 20 metres in length.
On this dock you can also take part in many other nautical activities:
In short, the Mogán Marina is perfect for both professionals and amateurs of maritime activities.
Of course, you will also find excellent restaurants with traditional Canarian food, fish and seafood, as well as Mediterranean cuisine and cuisine from different countries, since it is a very cosmopolitan place. There are also shops where you can find everything you need.
Another highlight of Puerto de Mogán is the beautiful fishing village next door, with interesting craft shops, charming corners and a lively day and nightlife.
Also, in Puerto Rico you will find moorings for boats from 6 to more than 15 metres in length.
But the charm of this port lies not only in its numerous nautical activities, but also in the proximity of its excellent beaches, starting with Puerto Rico, a wide beach of golden sand, family-friendly and with all the services. But if you are looking for a quiet beach, Playa de Amadores is worth a visit, with calm waters and white sand that will remind you of a Caribbean beach.
Just like in Puerto de Mogán, from this port you will be able to do water activities, both for beginners and for more advanced levels. For example:
And, to recharge your batteries, you’ll find several restaurants, both informal and more sophisticated, serving both local and international cuisine. Although, of course, we recommend you try the ones that serve fresh fish, straight from the port!
Nearby you will find a shopping centre, shops, clinics and everything you need to make your stay in this port easier and more comfortable.
So far, we’ve told you about the marinas near the south coast of Gran Canaria, but we can’t fail to mention the marina of the island’s capital, so conveniently located in the centre of the town. This will give you plenty of options for fun, whether you’re “from the sea” or “from the land”, as you can easily walk to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from here.
In terms of maritime facilities, it has 1500 moorings for boats of up to 50 metres (attention: with a maximum draught of 4.5 metres), drinking water, fuel, electricity, boat repairs, meteorology, gas cylinders, car parks…
It is also interesting if you don’t bring your own boat. There are possibilities to take sailing courses, there are very good restaurants nearby, it is a cruise port and the venue for important events, such as the International Sea Fair, the Prosailing Tour Ocean Fifty or the ARCH (international regatta that connects Gran Canaria with the Caribbean Island of Santa Lucia). And, since it is the most international port, several cruise ships also pass through it.
Are you up for discovering these marinas in Gran Canaria? Take into account our information to choose the one that best suits what you are looking for and you will have an unforgettable holiday. Consider including in your packing list, beach booties or other nautical footwear, waterproof camera or video camera, sun lotion, swimming suit, head protection… Gran Canaria is one of the best destinations for sea lovers.
Live an experience in our unique hotels, you can enjoy an unforgettable stay while practising your favourite sport.
