Información general del Parque Nacional Lam Ru
Entre las peculiaridades del Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park está su pequeño tamaño en comparación con otros parques naturales al alcanzar los 125 kilómetros cuadrados.. Este parque nacional se encuentra en el sur de Tailandia, concretamente en la provincia de Phang Nga. Está ubicado junto al mar de Andamán y, por tanto, te regala unos bellos paisajes que merece la pena ver si vas de viaje a este país asiático.
Entre las curiosidades que debes saber está la altura de su pico más alto, de 1.077 metros sobre el nivel del mar, que nutre de agua numerosos arroyos y ríos.
¿Cómo llegar al Parque Nacional?
Existen varias maneras de llegar a este parque nacional. Una de ellas es por medio de las populares minivan, que son pequeñas furgonetas que funcionan como autobuses. Puedes cogerla en Phuket, además de en toda la zona costera que separa a este municipio con Lam Ru.
De todas formas, puedes preguntar por la forma de trasladarte a este paraje en el hotel donde te alojes. Generalmente, suelen facilitarte el transporte o, al menos, la información que necesitas para visitar el parque. En caso de que esté cerca, lo recomendable es ir en un taxi.
Precio de las entradas y horario de apertura
El horario para visitar este parque es de 08:00 de la mañana hasta las 16:30 de la tarde. En caso de que decidas degustar la gastronomía de la zona, tienes la posibilidad de entrar a su restaurante, cuyo horario es de 8 a 6. La hora de cierre puede cambiar en función a la demanda de los comensales.
Las tarifas difieren mucho en el caso de los extranjeros, que deberán pagar un precio mucho más alto en comparación con los locales. Aun así, no te supondrá un gasto excesivo debido al bajo valor de la divisa. Los adultos deben pagar menos de 3 €, exactamente 100 bat. En el caso de los niños, el precio de la entrada no supera los 50 bat, que equivalen a menos de 1,50 €.
Además, disfrutarás de diferentes atracciones y de otros servicios, como es el alojamiento, que deberás pagar aparte. Si te gusta el camping, tienes la oportunidad de alquilar una tienda, también por un precio bastante económico.

Son muchos los lugares de interés que puedes encontrar en Lam Ru, desde sus increíbles playas hasta sus famosas cascadas. Por supuesto que no puede faltar un recorrido para conocer toda la fauna y la flora que forman parte de este bello parque.
Área del centro de visitantes
Esta área destaca por sus playas, el acceso al camping , así como la posibilidad de comer en el restaurante del parque. También podrás entrar en las duchas y baños reservados para los visitantes.
Tienes la posibilidad de adentrarte en el sendero que une a las dos playas, el cual posee una longitud de un kilómetro. Este es lugar también de alojamientos, por lo que si decides pasar más de un día en él para conocer mejor el parque, podrás alojarte cerca.
Small Sandy Beach y Playa de Khao Lak
La Small Sandy Beach, como su nombre indica, es una pequeña playa de arena de muy fácil acceso, ya sea por carretera o por el sendero que hallarás desde el área del centro de visitantes.
La Playa de Khao Lak te ofrece la oportunidad de instalar tu tienda de campaña. Aunque el área de camping no forma parte del complejo que conforma el parque, puedes encontrarte dentro de este una pequeña porción de playa que destaca por sus rocas. Disfruta en este lugar del magnífico restaurante que no te dejará indiferente.
Cascadas Ton Chong Fa y Lam Ru
Por un lado, está la Cascada Ton Chong Fa con cataratas de cinco niveles. La más famosa consta de 10 metros de altura. Para llegar hasta aquí es necesario hacer trekking atravesando un camino bastante angosto, hasta llegar a una zona boscosa mucho más amplia de menos de un kilómetro de distancia. Realmente, los desplazamientos no son demasiado largos, así que no tendrás dificultades para realizarlos. Solo debes tener en cuenta que, una vez que llegas solo estás rodeado de la naturaleza, no cuentas con restaurantes ni estancias para los visitantes.
Por otro lado, la Cascada de Lam Ru es la más alejada, al estar ubicada a más de 45 kilómetros del área del centro de visitantes. No hay manera de llegar por medio de transporte público, solo por rutas de senderismo, de las cuales te puedes informar una vez que estés allí.
Flora y fauna del parque
En Khao Lak Lam Ru la fauna y la flora son muy especiales. Puedes conocer a los lémures voladores de Sunda, los serows de Indochina y las comadrejas malayas. Desgraciadamente, ya no hay constancia de la existencia de tapires en el interior del parque.
Hay más de 170 especies de aves, como los charlatanes de cola corta y barbudos de corona roja, entre muchos otros. Son varios los reptiles y anfibios que puedes encontrarte, como la naja sumatrana, la boiga jaspidea, serpientes lobo, geckos, tortugas y un largo etcétera.
Con respecto a su flora, destacan los bosques de árboles de hoja perenne y muchas especies, como el Yang – Dipterocarpus Alatus o el Teca de Malacca, entre otras.
Recomendaciones para visitar el Parque Nacional Lam Ru
Una de las recomendaciones para visitar Lam Ru es que vayas bien equipado con una botella de agua y protector solar, especialmente cuando inicies la senda hacia las cascadas. Necesitarás hidratarte adecuadamente para seguir caminando.
